Send a Cow

Send a Cow

The cattle are lowing at a custom-fit bovine jumper created by Send a Cow to help fight poverty in Africa

Bright jumpers have become synonymous with the festive period, and it’s hard not to love the tacky ones on offer nowadays! This Christmas, thanks to Send a Cow, even Gloria the cow has joined the fashion herd, which has been knitted to help raise awareness of Send a Cow’s aim of selling 20,000 festive gifts that will make a difference to poverty-stricken African families.

Send a Cow was started by West Country farmers 25 years ago and in that time has transformed the lives of over one million people. Send a Cow works hand-in-hand with families in seven African countries, teaching them the skills they need to build lives free from poverty and hunger. By providing training, livestock, seeds and support, the charity helps create stronger communities for the future.

Clothes Show Live, Birmingham 2014

Clothes Show Live, Birmingham 2014

Only a week ago one of the biggest Fashion & Beauty events of the year shook the normal life of Birmingham. The NEC became a home for a unique 5-day fashion experience – Clothes Show Live.

Not only were there amazing discounts on many of the designer clothes, but you could also take part in different master classes for beauty tips, hair secrets and catwalk success. The show was truly fantastic! The catwalk offered so much more than simply a chance to check out some great clothes – it was a live performance designed to impress!

I’ll stop talking now and let you enjoy the photos – special credit to my dear friend and talented photographer Rod Leon.

Meet me in the city, Living Walls – Hackney Wick

Meet me in the city, Living Walls – Hackney Wick

“With a major concentration of  artists and studio spaces, this canalside community is a hub of creativity and innovation. Set alongside long-established residential and business communities, this has become one of London’s most exciting new destinations.”

Source: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park website

Hackney Wick is a special place in London – Fish Island in particular. It is located in a hidden pocket which you may find by accident while walking around the newly built Olympic park, but in general – you need to be introduced to the area in order to understand it. All of the studios and the quirky residents make the area what it is – a creative hub.

Facebook Good Practices for Bloggers

Facebook Good Practices for Bloggers

Last month I was invited by Bloggers Love to talk to fashion and beauty bloggers during one of their Bloggers Love Hub events. I like meeting new people and was very happy to contribute to the London bloggers community.

I held the social media booth during the second event in November. It was a quiet corner at the Kanaloa club, where I was sat down with my tablet and a refreshing mojito cocktail. Many blogging girls came to have a face to face chat with me about their blogs. I had the chance to speak to so many lovely bloggers – all from very different blog area, age group and level of experience. There was a certain pattern of questions and concerns about their social media and online marketing, so I decided to put a few tutorials and tips here on my blog.

Let’s start with the Facebook Good Practices for Bloggers

Stella & Dot Gift Guide

Stella & Dot Gift Guide

I first met the products of Stella & Dot at a trunk show here in London. I was not only impressed by the quality, creativity and diversity of the jewellery on display in front of my eyes, but I also loved the company mission. The brand has started to help women achieve balance between family life, being a mother and having a successful career all in the same time.

When I heard that my friend Christie became a stylist at Stella & Dot, I couldn’t help but fall in love with the brand even more. If you missed, here you can read the interview with Christie from Living Simplistically. I adore Christie’s fashion style and her amazing ability to maintain so many activities in her busy life: working, studying, running, yoga exercising, being a mom of two talented children, being a wife and a friend, and so much more. If she has joint the Stella & Dot family, that means we can all rely on a genuine friend who will give us the best styling advice.

Monday Outfit Post

The winter came so unexpectedly. For me anyway. I somehow must have been hoping that the warm sunshine will last for longer, but there it is – December came and brought all the wind and chill with it. It’s quite refreshing when you go outside and feel that crisp air on your skin, but it resulted in me catching a cold. Sorry for not being able to post as often I wished, but the fever was stronger than my will.

Product Review

When I was starting this blog, I wrote about my strange ankle condition called Accessory Navicular Syndrome due to which some simple sport activities such as running or skipping cause me lots of pain. For a person who likes to have active lifestyle and workout, it’s a little bit annoying that I can’t benefit from running as other people do, but sometimes we just have to deal with what we’ve got.

After I spent many years trying out sports which caused me enormous pain in my ankles, I discovered the ones I can’t do: jogging, running, kick-boxing, tae-bo… When I crossed those ones out, I finally dedicated myself to staying fit through doing what I CAN do. The good old gym workout can never let you down.

Saying all this, shoes for me are the most important part of the gear. I don’t mind wearing any plain tank top and a pair of leggings, as long as my training shoes provide me comfort and stability. I tried out many different brands and styles, until I found the right ones for me…
