1. Drink water

As simple as it sounds, drinking lots of water daily is vital for our health. The effect of water is immediate – the skin not only glows but you also feel a lot better after having a glass of water. Our cells are flushed, making wrinkles less pronounced, and our bodies work more effectively as the toxins get washed away.

I drink 2-3 litres of water a day. No added sugars, flavours or colourants. Simply mineral or filtered water.

2. Makeup in natural tones

The tone of your skin is very important when elevating your natural beauty. To achieve perfectly glowing skin, you don’t need harsh contrasting colours. Simply coordinate your makeup to your skin tone and use soft, muted neutral palettes.

The general rule for picking the right neutral is to stick to hues within two shades (lighter or darker) of your natural lip, cheek, and eyelid colours. The blush should match the colour of your cheeks when you’re exercising, as for eyes – go for a rosy beige or even a silvery pink to play off the translucence of the eyelids.

3. Cleanse

We all know that flawless makeup stems from having good skin. Along with healthy eating and drinking lots of water, stick to a daily routine of cleansing your face before bed.

Use a light gentle cleanser which won’t wash away the natural oils of the skin. A good facial brush helps removing impurities from the pores. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

4. Hydrate

After your daily routine of cleansing and occasional exfoliation, hydration is the next must-do. Don’t skip this step even if you have oily skin, just find a formula that works for your skin type. Hydrating the skin is vital for its healthy appearance, elasticity and for protecting it from environmental damage.

You can choose between a day and night treatment or one universal any time moisturiser which works for your skin to maintain its natural glow and radiance. A good moisturiser should have a glycolic or lactic acid to help whisk away dryness, smooth acne scars and reveal brighter, more luminous skin. Another ingredient you may look for in your hydrating lotion is vitamin C – an antioxidant which fights free radical damage and lightens discoloration, which results in brighter, more even skin tone.

5. Lips

My little lip secret is that I use balm Every. Single. Night!

Sleep is not only a time of rest, but a chance for your body to heal itself from its daily rigours. Apply lip balm before bed to hydrate your lips whilst sleeping and to wake up to soft, plump lips.

6. Body lotion

Moisturising the skin is essential for keeping it hydrated and healthy. Whilst in the cold months you may need a thicker lotion to protect exposed skin from the harsh weather, in the summer the same body butter or oil would take ages to sink in.

Take time to properly moisturise. Pay particular attention to the heels of your feet, your elbows & knees, and the back of your hands. The rest of your body will benefit from a light layer of body butter or oil. In the summer months, I prefer a lighter and more hydrating body lotion to maintain and protect my healthy glow.

7. Quick workout

I know you may not always be in the mood for going to the gym. A quick workout when done right can make you healthier, happier, and fitter. Short intense bursts of activity can speed up the metabolism, keep the heart healthy, rid the body of toxins and help you achieve naturally glowing skin.

Find what works best for you – whether it’s a 7-minute run around the block, 10 minutes with the bike in the park or 10 quick burpees in the living room.

These are my favourite Youtube workouts that you can do at home. You don’t need equipment – just yourself and 8-10 minutes of your time. Top Tip: Best to do these before you take your shower!
