Hot steam coming out of a porcelain cup as your nose catches the floral aromas of white peony. Just as your lips touch the hot surface and your taste buds get soaked in flavours.
I may not be a fanatic about tea, but I love to enjoy a nice cup of organic loose leaves to calm my afternoon. Green herbal teas are my favourite, followed by white and floral. I have many times tasted and samples different teas and you can read here how to do tasting notes and how to find your perfect brew time for each tea.
Now here is my new favourite teapot – working flawlessly to deliver the perfect brew to my cup every single time.
The IngenuiTEA tea pot by Adagio Teas is a simple and easy way to brew your tea anywhere. All you have to do is put a spoon or two of your favourite loose leaves and let it brew for a couple of minutes. The leaves have enough space to expand and you can watch them. Once the tea is ready, simply place the pot over your cup and crystal clear tea gets quickly poured in. When you lift the teapot, it stops dripping. It’s very impressive that it doesn’t leak and doesn’t leave any wet markings after use!
It’s made of food grade plastic which is dishwasher safe, but it’s also very easy to rinse under the tap. The filter is very fine and will never need to be replaced.
I think every home and every office needs one. If your favourite coffee shop doesn’t have any IngenuiTea pots, ask them to get!
Benefits of loose leaf tea
Sure there is a difference between the crushed ingredients in a tea bag and loose leaves. Let’s explore some of the benefits of drinking loose leaf tea:
- More space for the leaves to expand in the tea pot, releasing full flavour and nutrients.
- Higher grade tea, only the best leaves are picked for loose tea.
- More natural oils and better flavour.
- Clear taste with distinct varieties, against more bitter tea from bags.
- Unbroken leaves keep more of the powerful antioxidants and polyphenols of the plant.
- It’s considered a “necessity of life” in China.
Adagio Teas specialise in providing a huge variety of artisan teas and teaware. Their whole-leaf teas with superior taste are sourced directly from the artisan growers which ensures that when they reach your cup, they will be fresh and brimming with flavour. Along many popular tea types like green, oolong, matcha, herbal, black, rooibos, they also have many gourmet teas – see full range here.
Their Master Teas are carefully selected to represent superior attributes in terms of appearance, flavour and aroma. These entirely hand-processed teas are quite rare outside Asia due to very limited production and high popularity amongst local tea connoisseurs.
