Lemons & Glitter – 12/12 DPdenim

{Monday Outfit Post}

It’s time to show my last pair of denim from the Dorothy Perkins skinny jeans competition. It was a great experience for me to be able to choose the piece of denim I fancy each month for a year.

For the last item, I chose a pair of Eden Capri pants in a lemon pastel shade. I wondered what the fit was going to be, because I’ve never had capri jeans before, but they are literally the same as jeggings – fit well and are super comfy.

It took a while to find the perfect time and weather to take photos of these jeans. They are such a lovely bright colour that it just has to be sunny to wear them. Last Monday was the perfect day, so we headed to Greenwich park for a picnic. A glass of chilled white one, the sun blazing down and surrounded by beautiful greenery.

Whilst I was posing around our picnic spot, I noticed that there was a large group of school kids (at least two bus loads of them) on the other side of the park. Suddenly, I saw that 3 girls started walking in our direction. I thought they would walk past us when I realized they were actually coming towards us. They stopped behind the photographer and said in a cute French accent: “You’re so beautiful! Can we take photos with you?”

I was so thrilled by this little gesture of attention. They made me feel so special. It was a real pleasure to take a photo with each one of the girls. They were so shy and before I managed to ask where they were from France, they thanked me for the photos and ran back to their class.

Here is the main reason I have the Lookbook section on my blog – I strongly believe that every woman is beautiful! No matter where you’re from, what you do and what your age is, if you feel beautiful and act like it, others will see it too. I have so many little and big flaws on my face and body, I’m a petite and have never dreamed to be a model, but I’ve accepted and always laugh at those bits, because they make the real me. I don’t always wear makeup – as you can see in this post. I’m a graphic designer and I could retouch all of the photos to look like they were from a magazine, but I would lose the point of it all. All of us, ladies – the real women – are beautiful! 🙂
