London Ferry

Sometimes I find joy in the simplest things in life. Even after 3 years living in the big city, I still love exploring all of its different faces, including the industrial parts of it.

I know for most of you it’s not the most common touristic sightseeing one would normally take in London, but for me it felt amazing. First of all, it’s absolutely free to get on a ferry across the river. You can jump in your car or even walk in. Secondly, it feels much different than walking a bridge over the Thames. You’re moving slowly with the ferry on the water, you can fully feel the breeze, see the water moving under you, smell the wet air.

It only takes 5 minutes to go to the opposite side of the river, so you don’t even feel it. While you’re watching the high buildings of the City getting smaller and smaller, you’re already in Woolwich. Than… it just leaves you with a feeling that you stopped the big rush to take a deep breath of fresh air and carry on with your daily routine.
