Summer escape with #MyJustFabStyle – culottes and off the shoulder

For many of us summer is the season to indulge in adventures under the sun. However you’ve perfected your holiday wardrobe, it would never be completed without some cool linen fabrics and loose garments for comfortable silhouette.

When JustFab challenged me to create a #MyJustFabStyle holiday outfit based on the latest summer collection, I knew very well what I wanted to portray. We don’t need to lose our own identity and sense of style when we go on a holiday somewhere hot. For me travel style is to combine simplicity, elegance and comfort…

Linen culottes

A perfect garment for those busy days when we’re engaging in different activities, culottes allow us to walk, climb, explore a city and its ancient landmarks without any drama yet still look like a lady. After all that’s what they’ve been invented for – “The bifurcated skirts of the Victorian era were originally created as garments that would give the illusion of wearing a long skirt while enabling women to straddle a horse instead of riding sidesaddle” as Jessica Bucci suggests.

Culottes for summer may not be such a revelation to some, but made out of linen mix they become a light breezy staple. And who said you can’t wear dark cinnamon shades this season – it’s perfect for those sunny days followed by hot evenings spent outdoors with friends.

Off the shoulder

Holiday dressing should be easy. No one has time to worry how to fit in this or that, or if it will be too hot to wear something, when the sun is out and there is a whole city to be explored. As soon as I set eyes on this top, I knew it would be fun to wear. The cold shoulder detail gives it a playful intricacy.

When I went to the local market to buy some fresh lemons to spice the dinner on that day, the old lady selling fruits was worried my sleeve was broken. I told her it’s fashion and showed her the adjustable strap and she didn’t know if she had to apologise or laugh.

Gladiator sandals and oversized tote

This amazing faux leather tote bag is totally “Ace” – literary for its name and because it’s reversible. It comes in 8 combination of colours and has a detachable inner pocket to hold the essentials! I’m so in love with its simplicity and well manufactured design. It feels like it could take me anywhere in a day-long drift from sightseeing to café to bar and it proved to be perfect for hand luggage on the plane too.

Gladiator inspired sandals may be a summer staple, but this year they’re making a huge return with so many different styles and looks to choose from. The chunky wooden block heel gives a sense of security as soon as they touch the feet and remain comfortable after long hours of walking.

A dainty and cute necklace from the same brand emphasizes the bare neckline. A bar pendant under a delicate chain is the perfect way to complete an outfit without overdoing it.
