ProElle Organic is one amazing thing that I discovered through Instagram. I found an account dedicated to organic skincare handmade in London. I soon found myself chatting to Janelle, the founder, about many different essential oils and natural fragrances.
About ProElle Organic
Just like many of us Janelle, from ProElle Organic, is a busy London girl with a day job, but she has the bravery and enthusiasm to dedicate her free time to her passion. And that passion includes mixing pure natural ingredients from plant-based oils to Fair Trade waxes.
She’s spent months of researching essential oils, carrier oils, waxes, natural butters and emulsifiers, to perfection her recipes. She never uses preservatives, parabens or any other nasty chemicals. What really gets me is her honesty when asked about the quality of her products: “Tested on friends, not animals!”, she says.
Anti-wrinkle face cream
Coming in s cute jar, this nourishing and hydrating cream is a great mix of natural ingredients – or plant spirits, as Janelle likes to call essential oils. She recommends using the anti-wrinkle cream at night – after cleansing the skin before bed.
I try to spend most of the summer away from rainy Britain, so I escaped for a few months in Bulgaria. The normal temperature here is 36 °C during the day, so I noticed that the oils started separating on top of the cream. I immediately texted Janelle on Instagram and she said there was nothing to worry about. It’s normal the temperature to do this as they are no preservatives and all I had to do was to mix the ingredients and keep the jar in the fridge. Simples 😉
Ingredients list: Aloe Vera, Beeswax, Rosehip, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Grapeseed, Lemon, Lavender and Tea Tree
The cream feels really light on the face. It’s not heavy in oils like others and it absorbs onto the skin pretty quickly. The top scent that you immediately pick up is lavender and later you can start noticing hints of lemon, tea tree. It leaves the skin very refreshed and nourished. I used it in the morning a couple of times, but it’s really the perfect treat at night.
Price: £12 for 30 ml
The toner is made of only natural organic ingredients and meant to cleanse the skin. Janelle recommends using it on a daily basis to cleanse your face and neck after a busy long day. I only use it 2-3 times a week, because I find it a bit too strong for me, but nevertheless I really enjoy the squeaky clean effect without leaving my face totally dry.
Ingredients: Rose Water, Witch Hazel, Lemon, Tea Tree, and Chamomile
The witch hazel comes a bit strong to the nose as it has a very prominent scent, but after a while you can also sense lemon, rose water and even chamomile.
Price: £10 for 100 ml
Gift set price: £18 for both the anti-wrinkle cream and toner
