Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Sugar is sweet.
And so are you…
The Bulgarian rose is one of those symbols that we all, no matter how far we go from the country, always keep in our memories. I have already told you on this blog about the benefits of Rosa Damascena and what makes the Bulgarian rose so special. This June for the first time in many years, my husband and I happened to be in Bulgaria. Hot weather with daily showers only suggested of the coming summer heat.
We took this opportunity to visit Damascena Skobelevo during the rose festival the valley is known for. You’ll be able to find out more about this truly magical place on the blog very soon.
Roses are red
There is something about wearing a silk dress that makes you feel extra special. Its soft fabric touches the skin in a way that brings a certain luxurious sensation. And when the silk is coloured in bright red just like the soft petals of the roses, it simply is calling for a romantic rock chic outfit.
Rainy summer day outfit
Those slightly cooler days at the beginning of the summer are my favourite. You can feel the warmth coming from the sun, but a cloud emerges from the top of the mountains every now and then to cool you off. It’s nowhere near cold, but a layer to cover the shoulders is a must. This season’s hottest staple – the bomber jacket – can add to the romantic vibe too, in its own urban kind of way.
A simple yet striking colour palette of red and black is completed by my favourite Dior Rouge lipstick. Block heel ankle boots are my best friend on days when I need to walk a lot. Minimal jewellery and metal spikes give this travel style a little rock’n’roll twist.
