The Bulgarian Liberty Day

We Bulgarians also have our National Liberty Day.

On 3 March 1878 in the small town of San Stefano, near Istanbul today, was signed a Treaty ending the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and putting Bulgaria back on the map after 500 years of Turkish enslavement. Nowadays, you’re more likely to hear about the Ottoman Rule we’ve had in Bulgaria, but I think that the most correct word remains Slavery.

I’m proud to be Българка (a Bulgarian woman)! So on that day I decided to dress myself in the colours of our National Flag. Luckily, there are so many colourful fashion options and that wasn’t difficult to achieve at all.

Starting from the white colour – I used a scarf and a top under the jacket in white. Followed by the green, I put my military style jacket from La Redoute (luckily, the weather was nice that day so I didn’t freeze).

I recently bought these lovely skinny jeans from Dorothy Perkins in brick red. I took out of the wardrobe one of my favourite pair of red United Nude heels and combined them with a handmade bamboo bag from China – they actually go so well together having similar lines and shades.

…and ready to go – matching the colour: White Green Red
