The Lost Album, by Dennis Hopper

The Lost Album, Dennis Hopper

The creative, yet volatile, Dennis Hopper was an actor, director and artist whose work packs a hard punch.

As promised here is my take on the photography exhibition of Dennis Hopper in the Royal Academy of Arts, London.

Dennis Hopper is widely known as an actor and film director. You might remember him as the star of Easy Rider. During the period of 1961 to 1967 he has caught on his camera a remarkable collection of images which now makes a chronological journal of the 60s – everything from the Civil Rights movement to the street life of Harlem and Hippy culture.

You will also recognise some of the biggest stars of the time from the worlds of art, fashion and music: from Andy Warhol to Paul Newman. Seen together, these 400 photographs paint a captivating portrait of 1960s America.
