Yungskin: homeopathy and acupuncture inspired facelift in a jar

When I got pregnant everyone told me that my skin would probably suffer. I was to expect pigmentation spots, dry or oily skin, breakage or anything along those lines that a new hormonal level can trigger. Instead of waiting for all of this to happen, I thought I’d better find a new skincare that can balance it all off whilst helping me keep my healthy complexion.

I did’nt even realise how incredible the results have been, until I spoke to a few of my close friends who also got pregnant roughly at the same time. So I decided to make a review of the skincare range I’ve been using.

Yungskin skincare

Yungskin is more than a vegan cruelty-free range. It’s the world’s first concept for natural skincare based on the principles of Homeopathy and Acupuncture. Designed by Dr Phillip Sherwin, a renowned homeopath, acupuncturist, naturopath, reflexologist and mineralist with over 40 years experience, it is a natural facelift in a jar.

Containing only the finest natural ingredients, Yungskin™ is infused and energised to dramatically improve one’s skin tone. For the creation of the skincare range, natural spring water from Table Top Mountain – an iconic land mark in Cape Town, Africa, which was voted one of the worldwide New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2011 – was used. The face creams have been infused with energies representing the acupuncture points on face, neck and eyes. Special energies have also been added in order to ‘command’ the skin to rejuvenate, tighten and glow.

Testimonials from customers suffering from pigmentation, sun spots and skin blemishes report an improvement in these conditions after using Yungskin face creams.

Face wash

As in the 10-Step guide to perfect skin recommended by Net-a-Porter, it’s initially very important to cleanse the skin well. I start my daily routine with Yungskin face wash, before applying any other of the products. It creates a very fine foam and I found that it works great with my Magnitone brush.

It’s a mild gel cleanser, suitable for all skin types that cleanse the skin without drying it out. Gently fragranced with essential oils of geranium and grapefruit for a pleasant and refreshing cleansing experience, the Yungskin face wash contains lavender water and is pH balanced, with no harmful chemicals or parabens.

Toner

The toner has a natural cocktail of vitamins and extracts to enhance the skin. Infused with actives to help moisturise and regenerate, it also reduces the appearance of wrinkles. The toner must be applied on a clean, dry face and leaves the skin feeling softer, smoother and more radiant. It contains no harmful chemicals or alcohol.

Food supplement

Yungskin food supplement is a pH alkaline liquid which has been infused homeopathically with energies to feed and rejuvenate the skin from within. For best results to obtaining youthful, glowing skin, it is recommended to take it in conjunction with the application of any of the Yungskin cream products.

Face creams – light and rich

Yungskin face cream comes in a light and rich version. You apply it directly to cleansed skin after the toner, massaging it upwards and outwards with your finger tips. You need to wait about 60 seconds for the
energies to stimulate the specific acupuncture points before you can use your regular cosmetics and makeup. You can also expect a little redness or heat sensation to appear a couple of minutes after the application of the cream due to fact that circulation is brought to the surface of the skin due to the infused energies. It’s nothing to worry about, as it goes away pretty quickly.

The Light cream is suitable for teenagers, women aged up to 30 and men of all ages. The Rich cream is better for women of 30+.

I must admit I’ve been using the light cream in the morning and the rich version in the evening on most occasions. Sometimes, when the weather was colder, I’d use the rich texture in the morning. On other days when my skin feels smooth and well moisturised, I’d only use the light version, or give it a rest for a couple of days.

Price: £49.95 for both creams

My overall thoughts

The Yungskin creams and supporting products have been specifically infused and energised using a high-tech quantum formulated process to stimulate and enhance the meridian and acupuncture points on the face at a deeper cellular level to provide visible and lasting results.

I didn’t even realise how well the range had worked on my face until very recently. My skin looks even better than before the pregnancy. I haven’t had any pigmentation spots, whilst the red blemishes I used to have before have disappeared, leaving me with a healthy glow.

The packaging is very simplistic, but the real value is inside the bottles. All the branding and marketing products are recyclable for a better holistic approach to the environment.
